I have the coolest privileged ever. Because I am one of Provoke! Magazine (an awesome ALL FREE magazine for high schooler) representative, I got a free invitation to watch the movie “Modus Anomali” by the one and only Joko Anwar.

In his 4th film, Joko Anwar as the director and writer deliver such chills and thrills. I can safely say that the twist in this movie is so sick and undeniably twisty in an uncomfortable way, this makes the list of ‘Much Watch Movie. Like for Real’ Because I’ve got to watch the movie before its nation’s release, I cannot tell ya’ll. I don’t want to be a spoiler and because it will not be the same if you already know the twisty witty end. All I can say is do not watch this film alone because you’ll be wanting to talk about it with someone, then do remind yourself to breathe because with the high tension in this epic motion picture, sometimes you just get caught up in the moment. We can blame the music director for this! There’s a great amount of silence in this movie that’ll make you think ‘okay, what’s next?’ but the music, when it does start, will make you say ‘No, Goddamit, NOO! I’m not ready for the next scene.’ You would also want to bring something to cover up the eye when there’s a wicked scene coming. And a lot of brains because this isn’t a kind of movie you watch ‘just for fun.’ The best part is, it’s an entire journey of a man’s mind. When you think you know what’s going on, YOU JUST DON’T.
When it came down to the Q and A session, this is what I got from Mr. Anwar:
- He doesn’t know where he got the inspiration, “I was tortured as a little kid.” and then he laughed. He also said “[I] spent too much time in the toilet [to get the inspiration.]
- The alarm clock is actually a reminder to him, if he’s going too far from his game. (Too far for what game? you just gotta see.
Some awesome facts:
- Modus Anomali receive Bucheon Award in South Korea.
- Had a world premiere at South By Southwest Film Festival (SXSW), USA in March 2012.
- This is a low budget film aaand….
- Will be released in Indonesia in the 26th of April. so go grab a movie partner NOW!

A new feature! YEAY!! Okay, in today first ever Link Me article, we’re going to talk about some fun music related website. If you have some spare time, please check em out yes?

this is what you’d find in the web. A lot of dudes dressed up as musicians with each having a job of his own. You can mix melodies, beats, chorus, voices and effects. You have 7 guys so make the best out of them.
working? relaxing? feeling in love? You want to pick the right mood-setting song for all your activity without actually picking them? well, stereomood provides the right place to do so. Just click or type what kind of feeling and activity that you’re having and select a playlist. It usually has about 12 songs that you can play all or play one-by-one. Now you don’t have to make your own playlist for every mood.
Holiday is on its way close! and I got just the entertainment when all the TVs are playing same old holidays movies, the radio singing the same song again and again and where you can just spend your spare time before family dinner. The special feature is, all the game that I picked DO NOT HAVE any opponent, cause yes, I don’t like to lose and it’s better to see your own score increase. These games I found are in Google Chrome App Store, so for all you Chrome lover, search away!
Flood-It! is one of my ultimate time killing game. The objective it to flood the whole board with one color. You can choose 3 board; Small, Medium or Large. Small board allows 25 moves or pick of colors, if you click more than 25 times before you can flood all the board, you lose. The medium board got 35 moves and the large one got 50 moves. What’s great about this game is, for me, I always want to beat my best move. at the moment it’s 20 (halla!)
WordSquared is the perfect choice for words fetishes, vocabulary lovers and scrabbles addict (like myself). This is just like scrabbles but you do not have an opponent. You just complete your own board with your own words. There’s achievement to be completed and that self pride when you can use all 7 tiles. Not the mention all the new words you can learn (I know it sound so geeky) makes you fell kinda smart! you can connect by twitter, facebook, goggle account and many more.

Sinuous is an addicting, relaxing, simple game. My kind of game! This is super simple, all you got to do is move the blue string thingy around to get score and avoid the red dots. You also can get extra life, gravity shield to make the red dots move away, shield to move through the red dots and get scores, minimize dots to make the red dots smaller and time warp to make the blue thingy move slower. Every time you level up, it’ll get faster and faster so, test it your self and I will ask you “wasn’t that addicting?”
Chain Rxn is these colorful bubbles that makes a chain reaction whenever they touched each other, and beside the pretty colors and that anxiousness you get whenever there’s 1 last ball that you have to capture, it’s actually just THAT. How simple, right? You just got to complete trapping a particular sum of bubbles in order to go to the next level, but you know, I really like those pretty bokeh-like colors. Oh and you should connect with Facebook for this one.
Little Alchemy is one of those brain twisting game of discovery. It will leave you questioning. How to play this game is easy but it’ll get tricky to the point of you screaming “NO, I WONT USE THE CHEAT SHEET” but you know you want to. So, just drag and drop the elements that you have to make other elements appear, there are about 280something elements to be found with just 4 or 6 elements to start with. Other similar game is Doodle God but it’s better to play Doodle God in iPhone or iPod.
Self discovery. I can describe many authors who had done absolutely great in this area, but to myself, or shall I say, my personal pick is Malcolm Gladwell’s books: Blink, Tipping Point, What the Dog Saw and Outliers (which a very dear friend of me gave as a birthday present). I’ve only read Outliers but I must say it is a very fresh and scientific book about upgrading yourself and that you could determine your own way by changing your act and point of view. But, I am not reviewing about his books (yet) I have in my possession, 2 books. One is the Pocket Therapist by Therese J. Borchard and the other one is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. Both are amazing in their own ways. Want to know how they help me (and probably others out there too) in facing self-doubt, dealing with unwanted feeling and taking control over my mind? Then read through, please
1. The Pocket Therapist by Therese J. Borchard
The first 6 pages and I am head over hills with this book. The way Therese renders reality is so bold yet fresh. It’s honest and well said. The tag ‘Emotional Survival Kit’ is precisely correct. In each chapter, Therese will take you to a journey of self acknowledgment and make you accept that you DO have a problem that need to be fix. Also in one chapter, she’ll make you realize that you rule your heart and mind, therefor in every emotional condition you’re in, you can control it. She tells you how and why you should do all the things in this book with her explicit selection of words. Her style is genuine honesty and still manage to be judemental in a fun way. Let me quote her from the Pocket Therapist’s 2nd chapter ‘Dance in the rain’
You can’t sit around and wait the storm to be over. You have to learn how to dance in the rain
Hope you get the meaning because that words, my friends, have changed me. I used to be perky and positive but I had a quite severe illness back in 2007 and since then I became quite of a coward but then I realize while I’m still sick for the umpteenth day, I have to be stronger than my illness. In a way that, I can’t let myself go (down) even in this time of incapability, I still and need to enjoy life. Embrace living everyday. In her 5th chapter, ‘Don’t waste fourteen good days’ her friend explains while she was waiting on her lymphoma test result in 14 days,
is no use worrying during these fourteen days, because if the results are negative, you will have wasted 14 good days. And if the results are positive, you will also have wasted 14 good days. Both ways you lose.
So basically this book wants us to deal with everyday problem with elegance and self-respect. Everyday is a new day and this shouldn’t be about forgetting yesterday. It is about learning from yesterday and starting fresh.
With experiences of her own, Therese sure knows how to suave our souls to a positive direction. This book is worth reading even if you’re not down in the dumpster or if you already feel superb about yourself. There’s no harm in a little therapy time.
2. The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
Wonderful fiction and even greater self-constructive book. Santiago’s dream is the most priced property along side his sheep. This boy’s journey of pursuing his dream is not always easy but he (Paulo) shows that it is not impossible that one’s Personal Legend is reachable. I always thought that every single human being has its own purpose of life. Why have God made us? and Why are we here? we usually stuck by those questions that only we can answer to ourselves. God guided us by touching our hearts and telling them what we’re here (in the universe) for but sometimes in the journey of reaching your Personal Legend, you often give up because your heart is afraid of losing everything is owns now and it is afraid of being hurt if the dream don’t come true. We almost always give up in the situation where we are so close yet feels so far from our dreams. Let me quote one of the saying in the book
the darkest hour of the night came just before the dawn
I’m like ‘whoow’ I feel that too. I feel as if I choose the worst time to fail; when I am closest to my dream. Paulo have successively awoken me up and now I realize I have my own personal legend to pursue. His vision is clear and the way he transmit it into his book it’s just very poetic.
