great movies this week

Hi and happy Sunday night!
So, giant movie poster again. I must really like this movie. Well, I do it’s called House of Sand and Fog. Watch it yesterday night and the moment it reaches it’s climax, I just want to put it here. Such a realistic story based on the novel of Andre Dubus III with the same tittle. The plot is basically about a house that is being confiscated because the owner, Kathy Nicolo, was neglecting eviction letters due to her unpaid business taxes. She told her lawyer that she doesn’t own any business and therefor, doesn’t owe any tax. She was forced to empty her property because the house was on auction months ago and is ready to sell the next day. Fortunately, the Deputy Sheriff, Lester Burdon helped her by giving advice and later on become her boyfriend. The house it self was sold and owned by a former colonel from Iranian Army, Massaoud Behrani with just $500. He brought his family in that house and renovating it then sell the house with a heavy price of $147.000. Then a lot more happened but the real attraction (sounds like a circus play) was when nobody wants to back off. Kathy wants her house back because it was inherited by her late father, Mr. Behrani wants that house because the money he made can secure his family future, then (and I really hate this) Sheriff Burdon wants to help Kathy in any stupid, selfish way. First he threated Mr. Behrani by telling him he could make his whole family deported from US back to Iran which is the most fearful thing that could happen to Mrs. Behrani then he left his family (wife and two kids) because he liked Kathy better then he locked the Behrini in the bathroom (what was that?) after that at the end he forced Massaoud to sign a paper that said he will give back the house and worst, he had a gun and somehow (I’m not telling) Esmail (Massaoud’s son) got shot in the chest of course he went into jail later but I just don’t get why he must help Kathy and hate the Bahrani. I mean he is nobody anyway. Well at least he made the movie good. At the end… well, you have to see for yourself. Trust me, it’s gets so good after the gun shot.

Next movie (you don’t think it’s only one movie don’t you? I did say movies) is Grace is Gone. You know what that is? Genius! I really like movies with little or without background songs. It seems so life-still and this movie is a dream come true for me. The plot is great, the songs is non-existed and the actors and actresses are really great. They engaged with their character and really excel to show them. This movie for me is more emotional than The House of Sand and Fog but not less realistic. I think, with two Sundance awards, this movie is worth every minute
