          Extremely loud & Incredibly Close

Need I say more about the title? No wonder it gets 2 nomination in the Academy Awards. It is a movie directed by Stephen Daldry based on a novel by Jonathan S. Foer about Oskar Schell, a boy that is trying to find a lock for a key he found in his
dad’s closet after he died. The key belong to a certain ‘Black’ surname and as Oskar tries to find what’s the connection between the Black family and the puzzle his dad left for him, he encountered many people in New York with their stories, invented many ways to find the lock and overcome his fears only to make sense of everything that had happened to his dad. Based on the tragic 9/11 tragedy, this movie is poetic, charming and touching. Many focuses on the horrible things that came with the tragedy but as I continue watching, this 1 hour and a half movie main message for me was how this tragedy turns people’s heart into a more loving and empathetic place. How the loved ones are never far

from the heart even though they’re gone and not coming back. About the willingness of people to comfort others even though it’s only a small thing that they’re doing. Beside the moral values, I also think that the screenplay was smart, the characters are portrayed beautifully, and that it was a movable journey. Overall, this bring tears to my eyes. Brava!
